Gordon Downey has an extensive business and human resource background, completing Board of Management appointments, in the corporate, personal and mortgage lending arm within the LloydsTSB Banking Group. As well as operating as a senior HR Business Partner he has also led and managed multi-cultural human resource teams within complex matrix organisations and managed a wide range of complex systems and organisational integration projects. One of Gordon’s key roles has also been driving and developing a HR Business Partner capability across organisations as part of Performance Dynamics Management Consultants.
As a HR specialist and business consultant Gordon has worked in projects involving mergers and acquisitions and major organisational change. A particular speciality of Gordon’s has involved his work in introducing balanced scorecards to drive individual and organisational performance. He has an extensive background in leadership and executive development, performance management and coaching.

His initial career began as a HR specialist with the British Army where he was involved with the restructuring of British Forces logistical bases across Europe. A senior appointment followed with the British Military Government in Berlin, where he worked in close collaboration with representatives from the US, French and German Governments on a range of organisation and employee relations issues.
He has since held roles as the Head of Learning and Development and later Head of Internal Consultancy within the Lloyds Asset Finance Group. These appointments provided a broad organisation and HR remit at a time of significant change and consolidation within the finance sector.

Currently Gordon works as a highly successful business consultant, completing a diverse range of assignments from executive coaching to the development of internal consultancy and business partnering capability for both individuals and functions involving HR, Finance and IT. He has worked in 15 different countries around the world and in the last year has worked in New York, Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Istanbul and Shanghai.
As an executive coach he is experienced in the use of psychometrics and 360 degree feedback. Currently he is involved in addressing a range of organisational and people’s issues arising from the introduction of a major IT system and platform for a major corporation.

Educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Gordon also attended both Strathclyde and Bournemouth Universities. He holds a Masters in Human Resource Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.(FIPD)

Gordon is a passionate fan of field sports and an accomplished scuba diver who has dived throughout the world. He currently lives on the South Coast of England in Bournemouth
